Meet The Doctors

Our physicians are board certified with the American Board of Family Medicine which requires, in addition to completion of a residency in Family Practice and continued medical education, the successful completion of a written examination every seven years.

David A. Duncan, M.D., F.A.A.F.P.

Dr. Duncan joined Powhatan Family Physicians, Ltd. in 1987 after completing his residency at the Chesterfield Family Practice Residency Program. He attended the College of William and Mary and the Medical College of Virginia.

Dr. Duncan lives in Powhatan with his wife, two dogs, and two cats.

Dr. Duncan and his wife are active in their church and are both actively involved in the community. Dr. Duncan enjoys woodworking and pottery and both enjoy gardening.

Diane L. Johnson, M.D. , A. A. F. P.

Dr. Johnson joined Powhatan Family Physicians, Ltd. in August 1999 after completing her residency at Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University and the Medical College of Virginia.

Dr. Johnson lives in Chesterfield with her husband, Wayne, and daughters, Marisa and Sarah. She enjoys racquetball, running, hiking, stamping, and cooking. She also enjoys participating in marathons and tri-athalons.
